ER Wait Times in Cuyahoga County Hospitals

Average wait times at hospital in Cuyahoga County show the time patients can expect to spend. Actual wait times will depend on many factors, such as severity of the injury, time of day, and staffing. Patients are quickly evaluated as part of a triage process, so the most severe cases can be treated first. Depending on the hospital, this initial wait can run from a few minutes to over an hour. The times below also include wait times for initial treatment, since there can be many delays after the triage process. Choose an ER with a shorter wait time to get seen more quickly.

These are the average time from entering the ER to being admitted to the hospital by a doctor. In a busy ER, patients will be seen by a triage nurse first. Then the wait time will vary by severity, and how busy the ER is at the time of day. Patients with less serious problems could have substantially longer waits.

There is a 117 minute wait difference between the fastest ER in Cuyahoga and the slowest.

: "My mother has been in the ER lobby of Hillcrest Hospital, Tulsa Ok, for 5 hours. She has stage four metastatic bone cancer. I brought her here to hopefully get her pain under control, or at least a little relief. She’s in extreme pain, but she hasn’t seen a doctor yet. " - Vanessa

: "Stay away from Melbourne regional hospital. Went in there with a dog bite injury. I had the series of rabies vaccine since I was starting vet school. The doctor stated you need to do these shots per CDC. I refused themsince I had just recently had them. He said are you refusing treatment. I said I’m refusing the shots. They refused to clean the wounds that were still bleeding. He refused to do stitches and they refuse to dress(cover) the wounds. The nurse stated if you refuse the shots we cannot do anything for you. The doctor came out and stated you will die with out the shots. I said you go look again at CDC. Well the next morning the health department calls me. Dr sent them Faldo information. I told her what happen and she stated that I didn’t need them but even if I refused the shot they still should have attended to the wounds" - Monique
