Villages Regional Hospital, The: "I just had two heart procedures done at the VIllage hospital. I could not have ever received better care. From the time I walked through the door until I left I had excellent professional care. The thing I admired the most was the way the staff joked, laughed and smiled at each other. I could tell they were happy with their jobs. Doctor Jones did a very good job on both procedures. This experience changed my complete outlook on the Village hospital. I would differently give every one of the staff I was involved with a 10." - Roger

Villages Regional Hospital, The: "Went in for what I thought might be a kidney stone. ER nurses quickly rejected that based upon my symptoms. I told them I have metastatic prostate cancer in my back and spine, but they ignored that. After blood work and a urine test they told me I had a kidney infection. Gave me several shots, a Norco and sent me home with prescriptions for a muscle relaxer and an alleged pain pill. I had instructions to see my regular doc in 3 days. I then spent 48 hours of pure hell in unbelievable pain. When I saw my doctor, he was shocked they didn't do any scans or further tests. Within hours I was at Lake Med getting a Petscan and within an hour of the results, my doctor had talked with my oncologist and I was sent that day to radiation to get me ready for 3 weeks of radiation. They also prescribed a pain pill that had some strength to it. When that wasn't working very well over the weekend, they prescribed a stronger dosage the following Monday. From nurses to doctors to technicians, nobody could believe the ER misdiagnosed me and didn't do further tests. The oath says do no harm, The Villages ER put me through 2 of the worst days of my life with a poor diagnoses and sugar pills instead of pain medicine. Several nurses I talked with said they won't go there if they have an emergency. I think they are right." - Len

Villages Regional Hospital, The: "Horrible experience! My husband would be dead had I not been there. Had multiple bee stings and he is deathly allergic to bees which I told them. They still had not given him epi pen when he had been in ER for an hour! I had to fight for epi pen injection! He was going into shock.beware, there are no doctors in their ER! Head nurses are all you get. We were in ER from 3:30ish to 11:30 ish (8 hours) before he was admitted. I requested to see a doctor on the 4:00 timeframe. The doctor never came to the ER! Horrible! His care was terrible. I wouldn't take my dog to this hospital!" - Betty
