Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital: "Vidant ED is one of the worst ED in the area. I went there 16 days ago with Bronchitis and Lower Respiratory Infection. Received antibiotics and i was released to my family physician. 9 days ago I saw my family physician because my respiratory infection was not improving. Had my antibiotics changed and placed on prednisone and a nebulizer. 5 days ago started vomiting and return to ED 2 later because I could not keep anything down because of chronic gastritis and antibiotics. My family physician said I needed to be admitted but he does not have admitting privileges since the hospital started using hospitalist.
Went back to Vidant ED and current ED Physician (Hutchinson) gave me fluids and the same medication I had been using for nausea and vomiting that was not working before I came there. He told me to return if I start vomiting blood, passing out, fever, etc. I already had a fever and I am still vomiting. I guess when I collapse I may get some attention and proper medical care. I would rather die before having to go back to the same idiots who gave me the same medicine that was not working when I went originally. Only a medical idiot would send someone home with the same medicine that was ineffective.
If I did not know better, I would say it was as though they try to keep as many patients as possible from being admitted." - Shawn
