Vanderbilt University Hospital: "Vanderbilt Children's Hospital ER experience is a nightmare. The system is broken and this unit is a perfect example of it. My son was eventually determined to need emergency surgery after sitting in this ER for 4 hours after doing the same (4 additional hours) in an ER closer to our home. After this 8 hour time frame he was eventually taken to a room and placed on a stretcher with no pillow, no blanket, etc. for another 8 hours until we finally got him back to surgery. OR experience was great." - Lee

Vanderbilt University Hospital: "I took my husband to ER 11/8/22 at 5:00pm. Was triaged and put in a small room with 6 other sick people. I was told to stay outside no visitors with PT. We came from Lebanon. My husband is 16 years into a kidney transplant, so his doctor is here and we love him. The ER has went down so much. He was sick with diarrhea and vomiting for 2 days. He also has diabetes. He came for help and got a chair in that small room, with 25 bottles of water and 4 cups of ice. Wow a dog is treated better. He was a sick man with health issues we watch close and they didn’t care. They gave him 2 IV bags at 3pm was told go home you may have more diarrhea take Imodium. Which we did and blood sugar bottomed out again. If you cannot treat PT maybe you should consider building a ER off site to help accommodate all your emergencies. 8 plus hours and you will charge insurance/ us for that chair out the ass which is wrong. They have a txt message they send visitors that come with PT is a joke to. Only thing I got was the doctors names assigned to him. " - Tammy

There is no organization at all" - Marisia

Vanderbilt University Hospital: "Vanderbilt ER, drove down from Kentucky, and got to the ER at a little before 1130 am, within 10 minutes we’re called back and triaged, was told to sit in the phlebotomist chair and wait for them to get there so we can start with blood and get a room , waited 34 minutes and no show, was asked to wait in the waiting room and would be called back when they returned, has been 2 hours and have seen many get called but no phlebotomist as of yet !!! Waiting room is now filling up and it’s 1500 hrs. And still waiting…. Todays date 6/20/22 I would rather be told that they are or were busy and it would be a while rather than being told “it will only be a few minutes “ and you will go right into a room because we think you will be admitted ….. the wait continues… will be back with more !!" - Mike
