University Health System: "I've waited 17 hours never even made it into a room" - Maria

University Health System: "Went to University Hospital E/Ron 11/20 for shoulder pain due to chronic infection and back pain. Told NP I had history of kidney and UTI infections. Nothing was done during the 6 hr wait. On 11/22 I had excrutiating back pain and had to go by ambulance because I couldn't get in the car. Thankfully, I was given pain medicine within a few hours because I screamed when I moved a tiny bit. Waiting for the IV medication was very scary because a homeless person told me he was infected with "home grown Obama Covid. I told my husband quietly that Obama wasn't president when covid began. The homeless person must have overheard our conversation because he started swearing at me and threatening me. Thankfully, the kind nurse that gave me the iv pain med heard him and moved us to a safe area right away. After 16 hrs. I did have a UTI that my primary physician believes spread to my kidneys as well as the possibility of passing a kidney stone before the CT scan was done. I was so thankful and grateful until the NP's last comment to me was " You have a UTI infection, BUT that's not an emergency. OMG, I had never used an ambulance before that day and my dr told me that any sudden severe pain anywhere is an EMERGENCY! I absolutely love the care and kindness received from everyoe when I was admitted to University Hospital.

University Health System: "I've been waiting for over 12 hours to be seen. I was sent here by the urgent care needing an emergency scan of my stomach. 12 hours later and they just take my vitals every few hours. They gave me pain meds but they wore off. Asked for more as it's back and over whelming and they said ok. That was 3 hours ago. I keep asking for an update on the medications and they say oh we are waiting for a doctor to sign off. " - Ash

University Health System: "The wait time is so ridiculous! Came in thinking I had a heart attack. EKG n bloodwork completed. Waiting for “bed” so doctor can review results. It’s been 5 hours!! Just pull me aside and give me the results. More anxiety n nerves for the first 2 hours; now just mad. Can’t leave then call for results they told me. " - Robert
