Iowa Methodist Medical Center: "It is 3:51pm as I begin to type this. I arrived here with my wife at approximately 9am. we came in because my wife is having severe pain in her rib cage, chest and left arm. She is holding back tears. I just asked the lady at the reception desk here nearly 7 hours later, what is going on? Why have we seen EVERYONE here after us go in before my wife? I was told that she is in fact the person that has been here the longest but that her pain isn’t acute enough to be seen yet. I asked how acute her chest pain has to be to be seen. The lady was EXTREMELY dismissive and annoyed by my question. I’m starting to think it’s because the Triage nurse had a hard time understanding my wife with her being deaf. She is still sitting here in pain & even after asking about it, no one seems to give a care. We dropped out boys off at school and came here. Thank God we had family who made arrangements to pick them up at school take them home, let out our dog, and now will probably be taking them to dinner as well. What if I hadn’t been able to be with her here today. Can you imagine the confusion with not seeing any ones faces to read lips and then to be ignored for 7 hours to boot?! She hasn’t eaten or drank anything as to not interfere with any tests or bloodwork.. Inexcusable " - Nick
