United Hospital Center Stories

United Hospital Center: "This hospital is absolute trash. My father has been going to this hospital for at least 5 years to see "specialists" for certain ailments. Recently he had been having sever side pain. He had not one, not two, but THREE different appointments and tests run on him for his kidney. The doctors said "You have kidney stones" they gave him 2 medications and sent him home. Still in sever pain, dry heaving, couldn't eat/drink or even comfortably lay down. Still in pain he ends up going back with another appointment with a different doctor who then tells him, "You had a blockage in your kidney, it is now dead and full of fluid" ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!! Most of the doctors here do not take their time with their paitents, nor do the simply even care. Beware of what doctor you trust! If you do end up having to choose this Hospital, please for your sake do not hesitate to do your own research (to compare) to what the doctor has told you. Get a second opinion A.S.A.P. Make them take their time on/ with you. Above all it's YOUR BODY, you know it better than anyone. If you think they're wrong tell them. It's time to stop letting doctors that don't care go on "treating" our loved ones!" - Jessica

United Hospital Center: "I think they are committing fraud. They dont treat patients when they come in the ER. The patients make numerous trips to the ER. I went to the ER having difficulty breathing 4x they did nothing not even a breathing treatment. They wont prescribe antibiotics. my uncle had pneumonia that ended real bad. My grandpa swore they were trying to kill him and he ended up dying there. I dont like the place. They recently merged with wvu hospitals. All bad. Wvu doesnt know uhc has a very bad reputation?" - Thelma

United Hospital Center: " I have complete trust in Orthopedic surgeon Dr Courtney and his staff. As for UHC, on 3/2015 I completed my third orthopedic procedure at UHC. This was my third total joint replacement. Over the 4 years of these procedures UHC staff and facilities have continued to improve. In 2011 I would have said decent facility and fine staff. Now I rate them as excellent facility and outstanding staff." - Paul

United Hospital Center: "I am currently sitting in a pre-op room, waiting for them to take my husband in for gallbladder surgery that was scheduled for 3 pm. It's currently SIX pm, and we've just been told it will be at least another hour and a half. If we had been given this information a couple of hours ago, we could have gone home and rescheduled, even though we have totally rearranged schedules for today. My husband is feeling ill--he had had nothing to eat or drink for 24 hours now. I am beyond furious--I will not recommend this hospital or this doctor to anyone. " - BS
