The Jewish Hospital-Mercy Health Stories

The Jewish Hospital-Mercy Health: "had surgery on 6/2 for a hiatal hernia repair. I had severe left leg pain. I went to the ER on 6/5
They ordered a Doppler. I had Doppler done on 6/6. Saturday 6/7 I went back to the ER because the pain in my left leg was getting worse. The ER dr. Informed me that the Doppler was negative. He thought it was a ligament. He ordered tylonel robacin and Percocet. The nurse came in my room with medications I informed her they had to be crushed. She took the pills out to her desk and crushed them. She came back and gave them to me again. They were still big pieces. I asked her for the pill crusher so I could crush them up. She told me she would take care of it. She took the pills again back to her desk and crushed them again
When she brought them back to me again, they were still big pieces. Some of it was crushed. She told me to chew them up . My first major concern is that she took the pills out to her desk 3 times to #crush them .. it should have been done in my room. The second thing is that I told her Dr Diperno gave me instructions about crushing up my pills for at least 2 weeks. The third thing is that it's in mercy my chart that I refused to take my medication . I did not refuse. I don't want anything to go wrong with the procedure I had done on 6/2. This note will be sent to my surgeon . Dr Diperno and PA Tyler Wilke. If you need to contact me I can be reached at 513-260-7335"
