Tenet Health Central Coast Sierra Vista Rmc Stories

Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center: "I had a horrible experience in the ER, and would literally rather die than return to Sierra Vista.

I had a seizure. I went to Sierra Vista, where my experience was completely discounted by the ER doctor, once he found out I took anti-depressants. He referenced irrelevant information that was in my chart from years prior (I had a recent MRI done, as I am developing a neurological disorder, and rather than contacting the consulting neurologist, he looked at notes from a prior MRI and dismissed what I was telling him.) He told me I had hyperventilated, even though what I had experience was no even similar to hyperventilation. [I had been in the Sierra Vista ER once before for Hyperventilation-as I passed out during a lung test at Central Coast Pulmonology that forced me to hyperventilate.] The level of service was so bad, I even heard nurses cracking jokes about me.

I lodged a complaint, and was told that the job of the ER was not to diagnose, but to determine if someone was in a life-threatening situation, and I was not; and I was handed discharge papers and walked out by the head nurse.

I lodged a complaint with the hospital-and was told what I had experienced didn't happen. I lodged a complaint with the billing agency and refused to pay for the (lack of) service. I let them know that went to French Hospital for a subsequent episode, and they provided the adequate level of care to help me get diagnosed and treated (which is what I had expected from Sierra Vista).

I was notified yesterday from Sean/Shuan in their billing department that my complaint was reviewed, and it was determined that the level of care I received was 100% consistent with their standard of care. Process that for a minute-then bypass Sierra and go straight to French! Your life is worth the higher standard of care."
