Swedish Medical Center: "I recently had to visit the ER at Swedish Medical Center for a broken wrist. My first complaint was about parking. I followed signs for emergency parking since i was driving and I ended up in an area with only handicapped parking so I proceeded into the parking garage which was my only option other than backing up. After driving through the parking garage and out the other side to find there was no parking, I ended up parallel parking on the street. Once that feat was accomplished, I entered the ER and was instructed to put all of my belongings in a bin and sign myself in at the kiosk-This is an ER and I was holding my left broken wrist with my good hand and now I had to carry a bin and sign myself in. I felt like I was at the airport but at least people at the airport assist you at the kiosk. I didn't have my glasses so I couldn't see the screen well. Fortunately, A nice guy who was there with another person checking in offered to help me. Just as I was about done at the kiosk, the checkin lady told me she could help me and I should cancel out of the kiosk. I'm glad I wasn't having a heart attack because I would have been dead by then. Once admitted, all the nurses and doctors were great but I have to mention that they don't provide enough options for pain meds. I had to ask for something not as strong as OxyContin to take home- otherwise that was the first recommendation for pain meds and we wonder why there is an epidemic. Just had to share this experience since Walmart has better greeters and helpers upon entering than the ER at Swedish." - Karen
