St Rita's Medical Center: "My friend who went onto the ER because he was having suicidal thoughts was sent home because drugs were discovered in his system. So I guess it's okay if he comes home and kills himself. Yeah, that's quality care!" - Matt

St Rita's Medical Center: "Overall, my dad, 83 received adequate care. He has a blood clot in his left leg. I can make comparison as I, his son was in Kettering Hospital the end of January for the same thing. You have 2 goals on your board. Provide care that exceeds your expectations and if you are going home today, our goal is to have you on your way by noon. Not seeing these. I would recommend Kettering over you without hesitation and it would not be even close.
You need to take the little things seriously. Not answering call lights for 20-30 minutes. Not dealing with IV alarms in a timely manner. Dr. Says dad is discharged at 9AM. IV and heart disconnected at noon. After 2 and we still wait. Both goals were not met or not met with any consistency. Your goals are not part of the culture. Some of your people work to carry them out because they are hard workers. Others, just do what is convenient to them.
As a professional, I believe if you say you are going to do something...Do It!! Otherwise, do not say it! False expectations are worse than none at all I believe. We had some very good care, but the last 24 hours have been less than meeting expectations let alone exceeding.
Discharge at Kettering was 1 hour total. They did not write things on a board, they instilled values in their employees.
    You have work to do."
