St Marys Hospital: "I came to the ER for a migraine headache like I have been doing for several years. I waited 6 hrs in the waiting room and did not complain. I understand how an ER works. I use to work in one many years ago. I even asked if I could go to fast track but I was told the the nurse put me as a number 3 or 4 I don't remember and it couldn't be changed (I would've been seen a lot sooner). I would prefer to go to fast track so I don't take up a bed.
When I finally did see a doctor it had been 8hrs. since I had arrived. He was going to give me a cocktail of medicine for headaches. I told him we have tried that before and it doesn't work. I usually get a narcotic and nausea medicine. I go home, sleep and wake up without a headache. Dr. Johnson said HE personally doesn't believe in giving dilaulid because it doesn't work. This was his personal opinion. Reading the discharge notes he made it sound like I come in every week to get drugs. I don't but usually once a month.
The nurse (Lee) came in and said she was waiting on the ok from the pharmacy. I told her never mind and my husband and I were leaving. In her notes she said I aggressively took off my bp cuff and said I said "he won't give me what I want" and left. I never said anything like that and I just took off my cuff.
This was a bad experience for me but I decided that to get medicine that wasn't going to work was senseless. " - LINDA
