St Mary Medical Center Stories

St Mary Medical Center: "Went to ER on the 21st of August. Arrived at 6:30 am. Swollen sinuses, bronchitis, severely congested and asthmatic, could hardly talk and felt like I had a marble in my throat. Triaged and left to sit for 6 hours. Most of those hours I spent in the bathroom throwing up the massive congestion in my chest. I mentioned I did not have my asthma meds with me. At 12:30 I finally was led back to the west wing in a corner room with a bathroom which had no soap dispenser. It was practically empty with one person behind the desk. Was not offered any assistance..blood pressure monitoring, nebulizer for my asthma, or breathing test for level of function. NOTHING!!! They ordered a chest x ray and COVID test. Waited two additional hours. Both negative despite my chest discomfort. Sent home with script for meds. Followed up with PCP who was appalled by the level of attention I received and did all the testing that the hospital should have done. Needless to say, the nickname this hospital has received by many, "Scary Mary's" couldn't be more true. I WILL NEVER RETURN TO THIS HOSPITAL FOR EMERGENCY CARE." - K.
