Southside Hospital Stories

Southside Hospital: "I arrived at ER on June 2, 2021 with my son (from his doctors office) at approximately 8:30pm
Was in triage room for 30 minutes before doctor came in, basically determined he was dehydrated and that they will put in an IV to hydrate, ekg was done but nothing else, we then went in to “fast track” so they can put in IV, 2 hours later nothing .. a nurse never came in, no vitals taken and when I asked what was going on the answer was “we are very busy” it was not busy, they just were understaffed .. the doctor (very nice) brought water for my son to drink .. no nurse anywhere in sight .
2.5 hours later I said I will take my son home and give him fluids because the entire scene was ridiculous, I could not believe the lack of care, thankfully it was not a serious situation but nonetheless completely unacceptable. Returning home at midnight and angry that we wasted 3 hours for nothing

Southside Hospital: "I came through emergency they stated I needed surgery but I’ve had to keep track of when my medication is due and then fight with them to get it. I’m in horrible pain and have to search for the nurse for emergency. Machine stated air in the IV line and the alarm went off for over a half hour and once again I had to find a nurse. Southside hospital did not provide me with admission paperwork or A copy of the Patient Bill of Rights and 2 days later still refuse to provide. " - Jenny
