Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Stories

Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital: "Dear Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital,

This was my first time going to the Emergency Room for mental health needs in years...

Thank you, for sending me back out into our community after I told multiple people I was a psychiatric patient and on the brink of being a danger to others.

Thank you, for not heeding my cries for help because I wasn't screaming, or foaming at the mouth.

Thank you for sending me to CVS with a prescription for addictive anxiety meds, instead of addressing ANY aspect of my CRISIS at your "EMERGENCY" room.

Thank you for sending me home with a pamphlet on "schizoaffective disorder" when that has absolutely nothing to do with my diagnosis - or anything we discussed while I was there.

Thank you for being the reason why people like me end up on the evening news.

You guys are doing a great job - hurting those with an "invisible illness."

Keep up the stellar work.

-Nevada City, CA resident."
