Schneck Medical Center: "Had emergency surgery in January after one of the surgeons misdiagnosed me with Celiac instead of crohns. Removed over a foot and half of my small intestine. I started having severe stomach cramps again around 2 weeks ago again. I knew this wasn’t normal just a couple months after surgery and it felt the same as when I had surgery. I arrived in the ER, I was the second person to get to the ER. I waited over an hour to finally get a room. After I got a room they put an IV in me to get blood work but did not start me on fluids or anything. I waited in the room without seeing a doctor or another nurse or doing any tests or medication for over 3 hours. My husband got fed up and asked my nurse what’s going on. Mind you, every nurse was at the nurses station on their phone. My nurse said that they were extremely busy and I just fell at the bottom of the triage. How do I fall to the bottom of the triage when I had to have emergency surgery two months ago and was involved in a car accident the day before? Last night my stomach cramps happened again, this time I did not bother with Schneck and went to Columbus Regional. Let me tell you how night and day those hospitals are compared to each other. Last night felt like the first night anyone has listened to me. They brought me straight back to a room, started urine samples and bloodwork right away. Seen a doctor within 10 minutes of being in a room. Started me on fluids and pain reliever and had a CT scan done within the first hour. By second hour I was told I had a perforated bowel and will need to have emergency surgery again. I can’t help but to wonder what would’ve happened if Schneck looked at me a couple weeks ago instead of blowing me off the way they did. They treated me like a second class citizen. I will never go back to Schneck especially after seeing how they treat their patients compared to Columbus Regional. Do not go to Schneck, go to Columbus. You’ll be seen by a doctor and helped and listened to before you even get a room at Schneck. Schneck is the absolute worst hospital to go and should be sued for malpractice." - Nicole
