Saint Francis Hospital: "This hospital is never a 2 hr 40 min wait. It's more like 10-12 hours. They give you an IV and fluids and send you back out in the waiting area with it.. it's an all day thing, no matter how small or big your emergency is. If you're sick, like coughing, sore throat.. go to the urgent care and leave the ER to true emergencies. " - Jennifer

Saint Francis Hospital: "A "MIGHTMARE & A BLESSING"!

NIGHTMARE:
Went to ER St. Francis Main Hospital on Monday at 10:30am. Had a bad case of throwing up & diarrhea Friday evening & Saturday morning. Pass out in bathroom! Terrible night. No energy on Saturday & Sunday. Started feeling better Sunday, but woke up Monday feeling terrible. Anyway, PC doctor said go to ER. At ER had all test taken & now know all tests were read by 2:52pm. They kept telling us they were just waiting for the doctor to consult with us. However, at 8:30 pm said enough was enough(10 hours). Told them I wanted IV taken out I was leaving. All of a sudden I was in with a doctor. I have pneumonia on my left lung. It's not as serious since I "don't have asthma "! I think the doc and I came to a "come to Jesus meeting" right then. I said, "what is your name again??? I have had asthma for years! You have not even read my chart!!! You ask me why I was worried about heart??? I had a major heart attack in July!!! He said, "no I don't see you had a heart attack". I said, "what the hell are you talking about! Are you looking at my chart??? I was enraged! He started back peddling apologizing. Then said, "oh my you had a widowmaker heart attack!" I was like look I have some major concerns on the capabilities of this ER. He just kept apologizing and how overwhelmed they were. I sympathize but not when it comes to my health! He was apologizing again and said we will get you on a strong antibiotic and get you dismissed.
NOW THE BLESSING:
We saw so many people in the waiting room serving others with their needs. It was heart warming to see strangers reaching out to others . Jay and a young man assisted an older man who was constantly throwing up. Could barely walk. We formed a group of about 5 patients, who all came in around 10:30. We all decided to walk out at 8:30 pm; we all where being seen by doctors (screened in areas by each other); we all were saying ER reunion May 1st, 2024; we were all not shy about laughing at the crazy disorganized ER; actually the staff of nurses were laughing with us and understood our frustration. They said, "we have a group here"!

So I would not recommend ER St. Francis main hospital walk in. Terrible walk in care. You know I raved about Heart Hospital, Rehab; and volunteered for years at St. Francis. Give all three a 5 star rating, but ER is terrible!!!!!"

Saint Francis Hospital: "Continued. At 3:35 am my wife was called back to check Blood Pressure and O2. Told provider was working quickly now and hopefully will talk to it soon. Back to waiting room and we have been here 10 hours. Got the call at 4:41 am to go back and Dr to talk to us. Dr King was very helpful and kind. 4:51am and after getting prescriptions we get to go home to bed. He was apologetic over wait time. Thanks. " - Joe

Saint Francis Hospital: "Brought my wife in at 5:45 pm and after 8 1/2 hours waiting I was told that they are waiting for provider to become available to explain CT Scan results. How much longer will our wait be? Not used to being up this late and can’t sleep in these chairs. Now 2:25am and we continue waiting? Lots of other people in the same situation on a Wednesday night.
