Roger Williams Medical Center Stories

Roger Williams Medical Center: "I went to the ER at 8am with complaint of not being able to swallow without wanting to pass out. The first person I spoke to which was a triage nurse I informed I had nothing to eat or drink for 12 hours and I was ignored.I was put in a room immediately I assume because my BP was 153/107 and I’m pretty young, I asked for advil repeatedly so that I would be able to swallow some fluids I was ignored and treated as if I was burden. I see the Dr 3 hours later she saysit looked like I had an infection. Nurse comes back with a rapid strep test which ended up being positive at this point I still have had my pain addressed it took another hour to receive a medicine Via an I.v which didn’t work. I don’t want to be that guy but if you are gay and or a minority save yourself the aggravation don’t go here these people are awful humans. before you jump to their defense and make the case they have been on the front lines for the last three years fighting covid and they are under staffed etc, I’ll do it for you nurses are heroes and we would be in a very bad place without them. Unfortunately being understaffed and overworked doesn’t give anyone the right to ignore someone an have an awful attitude while doing so . I will be bringing this complaint as far up as I can go I am disgusted by the way I was treated and no one should have to be treated that way but sadly nothing will come of it. " - R
