Richmond University Medical Center: "I was at the ER this past September 24th with my autistic son. After testing positive for COVID, his primary doctor wanted him to get the infusion asap. We went there at his suggestion in the pouring rain and were the first admitted into the infusion section. I noticed that after we were seated more people started coming in. At some point, I noticed that two of those who came in after us were no long seated. I took a peak into an open room and saw them both getting their infusions. Soon after that a third person started getting his infusion. I was told that "This isn't a store and it's not first come first serve.". They may have been older than him, but he is autistic and has a compromised autoimmune health issue. Thank God he behaved better than I ever would have expected. He was put on the back burner. Soon after that a young woman who was with her dad (and already getting treated) opened the door to the restroom and alarms and flashing lights started going off right by us. Horrific for me, let alone an autistic person. He pushed through it remarkably. I notified staff, staff passed by, but no one did anything about it. That went on until we left. 5 1/2 hours after we arrived. I pray we never have to use that ER again. Treated very poorly. Thank God he had the two Moderna shots which helped minimize the symptoms." - Loretta
