Piedmont Augusta Hospital Stories

University Hospital: "7 hour wait time in ER just to be examined. Front desk is dismissive. Staff walks around talking, out loud, about how understaffed it is and they are the only ones working today. Seems obvious that the entire facility just doesn't care. Not a good trait for an emergency room. Staff with bad attitudes, no middle management and very poor leadership. Incredibly bad environment. Incredibly bad experience. June 24, 2022" - Bert

University Hospital: "Assuming they’re short staffed because I’ve been here for 2 1/2 hours… and counting. Another girl here (that chose to leave about an hour go) said she’d been here since 9:30. " - Aubern

University Hospital: "Well let's say I was treated as a nobody. I checked in around 12:30 am with shortness of breath. I was put in a waiting room with no one even checking on myself or other patients for over 6 hours. Ran out of oxygen too weak to go ask for any and was left in a chair with no family member in that 6 hours. Family called and they stated all was ok. I ended up sleeping on a table with no one checking on me. I have medical insurance and I'm sure my bill will be in the thousands I felt like a homeless person. I manage to make it to the desk 6 hours later and asked for some water. They stated with an attitude there was a vending machine I could get some water. I had no money or phone on me.. I survived with no care. Night shift could of cared less. Let them try to send me a large bill. Wrong wrong wrong. I am a retired disappointed nurse." - Jill

University Hospital: "The emergency room is ridiculous. 10 hours and still waiting. May be sepsis. Doesn't matter. Still waiting." - Vernell

University Hospital: ": "My mom was sent to the ER today by her surgeon at 11:00 a.m. to be admitted to University Hospital in Augusta Georgia. She is still sitting in the waiting room at the ER 8:00p.m.
She is a cancer patient currently undergoing treatment and has a compromised immune system. She hasn't had food or water the entire 9 hrs and no one mentioned she could have been waiting at home all this time via the virtual check in app. I just happened to discover while googling ER wait times. Why is this happening!?" - Shannon "
