Parkview Adventist Medical Center Stories

Eastern Maine Medical Center: "Awful experiences. Advocate, ask questions, trust no one. Badges flipped backwards on nurses but reversible badges on CNA's. Nurses that can't answer a simple question without going to their preceptor??!! On the CARDIOLOGY floor??!! Patient crying in pain, being ignored. Patient who needs to be fed gets two bites and then the dreaded "I will be right back". One hour later, come back and feed cold food. No bath, no face cloth even offered. It is dreadful. I don't understand how this can even be. I have never felt so helpless leaving my precious family member there. " - Andrea

St Marys Regional Medical Center: "Poorly managed facility from access to health care professionals to record management. Cardiology department is the worst where is it impossible to get annual followup examines and patients with symptoms are routinely subordinated to a nurse practitioner.

Went to another system that by contrast only accentuated the poor quality of St Mary's in-house cardiology staff. At new system was immediately given an angiogram which led to an urgent quad bypass. My life has been given back to me; able to exercise, work, run, breath normally, and pain free. The new people are nice, there is a relationship between patient and doctor and the facility staff is friendly and professional.

Primary Care Physicians at St Mary? Three years with an "annual wellness", never asked to take my short off, never really an exam, just a doctor sitting in front of a computer screen with me across the room, answering questions regarding lab work results. Also made a change here to another system and found doctors who perform physical exams and are prepared with patient information before they enter the room.
