Pomerado Hospital: "Walked in to this ER because I thought my hand was broken- it was 2 in the morning and I had no choice. This ER is the closest to my home.
After check in they took me back to the ER area the doctor came through and in 2 minutes told me that she if I could move my fingers, my hand probably wasn't broken- ER doc said I should see a specialist and she didn't know what was wrong with my hand. I walked out of that ER with no ice pack, no splint, no diagnosis- same condition I was in when I came in. Staff totally aloof....couldn't care less. After all, I hadn't been shot.
Nurse was irritated.
THEN about 3 weeks later I get a bill in the mail for that ER visit.
$1520 for access to the ER room (sitting in a chair for 20 minutes) and an additional $250 bill from the ER doctor (for telling me to go to a specialist). This is the profession to get into- you can tell people to go somewhere else for a diagnosis and still make almost 2K for 20 minutes of no care." - Laura
