Southeast Health Medical Center: "Beware of this hospital!!! I am a 100% disabled, decorated veteran sent to this hospital when I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. I went to their ER one night while having a grand mal seizure and was called a drug addict, shoved away in my wheelchair and left on the waiting room floor for 2 hours. They drew my blood in the waiting room! After being left on the floor and started coming back to my senses, I asked my husband to bring me home to die. We pull into our driveway and there is a sheriff sitting in our driveway; he told my husband that I was very sick and needed to return to the hospital. While my husband was speaking with the sheriff, my phone rang, it was the hospital telling me that I was actually very sick and needed to return. The sheriff was so angry that the hospital called the police before they called the patient. He helped my husband carry me into the house and put me to bed. The next week I reported the incident to the hospital via their speakup line; they investigated, the emergency room denied everything, I was called a liar and the hospital closed the complaint.
I told my oncologist, Dr Basarakodu and his comment was, you are dying, what did you want him to do? I dropped it.
Two and a half years later, I’m still up and kicking and told by my other doctor that I was not only their longest living patient but also one of only 2, stage 4 cancer patients to survive. I called Dr Basarakodu office after being directed by the VA to call about abnormal bloodwork results and left a message. 10 minutes later I received a phone call from Dr Basarakodu’s new nurse, Emily Stanley and was told that I was hated there, not to return or else they would kill me, called a bitch, whore, fool, burden and a bore. Again I reported the incident and was called a liar and laughed at by Daniel Grantham, Director of Oncology. I escalated and the case went to Eric Hartigan, VP of Ancillary Services for the hospital. He said that I had done nothing wrong and was welcome there; I tried scheduling appointments, several times and was denied. Eric Hartigan sneered at me when I found other doctors in Montgomery. My new doctors, found out that it was all the nurses at SE Hematology and Oncology who hated and planned on killing me. DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TREATED LIKE A DRUG ADDICT AND LEFT TO DIE!!!!!
This hospital ONLY cares about its technology and not its patients. I now wonder if SE HEALTH gets paid more money for letting their patients die.
They deliberately cover up horrible behavior and do nothing to stop the behavior and actions by their staff! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL IF YOU ACTUALLY NEED HELP!!! "
