Unitypoint Health - Marshalltown: "I’m still traumatized by my visit to the ER. I was gaslighted about my symptoms and treated like I was mentally ill. It took a three nurses to try to insert a catheter yet failed. I was spread eagle with a wedge under my butt not covered and held down by three nurses. I was told to undress in front of staff. They didn’t care who was entering the room or if the curtain was closed. I’m traumatized by this experience " - Deborah

: "Don't go to the ER for a broken toe, a cut on your face or for stitches in your finger. The walk-in clinics can handle all that. When you come into the ER with none life threatening situations, you put people like my Father, who had a bowel obstruction in jeopardy. We sat for ten hours trying to get that man the help he needed. He was very ill. As I write this, I have Covid and pneumonia and despite having a very hard time breathing, I will not go to the hospital because there are too many none emergency situations sitting there and that is very frustrating. If you have your meds messed up, go to your family doctor. " - Karen
