Jefferson Regional Medical Center: "Is it routine in other hospitals to give Vancomycin and/or other antiMRSA antibiotics? I had surgery for ankle fracture on March 12, 2014. Post surgery I was on antibiotics (piggy backed on the IV saline. I developed an infection around the central line inserted on the right side of my neck. I was told that a MRSA WAS CULTURED from the exudate that developed around the insertion point of the catheter. And Vancomycin was added to the antibiotics I was receiving IV. Why are Staph infections occurring in post op patients? Problem sterilizing instruments, drapes, e.t.c.?" - Johnson
