Loyola Gottlieb Memorial Hospital: "Have been waiting over five hours, we are still waiting. I e came because it’s an emergency. One person has been here 12 hours another 8 awaiting stitches. (Can they still stitch it after 8 hours) I really don’t have any other choice but to wait, this is the closest hospital.
Can someone tell me where I can lodge a complaint with the state?" - Cindy

Loyola Gottlieb Memorial Hospital: "AToday I had an appointment at 11:15 at the wound clinic. I got there just before 11 am. I had been told if I'd park in the rear, they were right inside the door.
I went in by the professional building. I did not find them. I went in the eye care center and asked if they could direct me. No, they had no idea. I stopped 2 or 3 people with id badges...no one knew and there was no signage. Finally, a man from the health center, on his way to lunch said he had no idea, but let him find out. He used a wall phone to call the health center and found out the wound care was way in another building. As I have diabetic sores on both feet, he asked the health club volunteer to call for a wheel chair. So I sat and waited. He came back from getting his lunch as saw me in the same spot, called HC again to request chair. And I waited. And waited. I called wound care coz now I was 45 minutes late for me appointment.
The Wc folks called for a wheel chair. I waited another 20 minutes and called them to say no chair had shown up. They entered it again into the computer and tried to call me back on the wall phone outside eye care center. The phone never rang.
Finally, after 1 pm, two hours after I tried to be on time for my appointment, a volunteer saw me. She asked if I was Madonna and still waiting for chair. I told her yes. Though I'm told she wasn't supposed to, she marched herself down to admissions, got a chair, came back and took me to the wound center.
How many things are wrong with this experience!?!!? Over 2 hours and no chair ever showed up! Why don't employees know directions within the facility? Why are there no signs directing people to wound center? What possible explanation is there for at least 4 requests (2 by volunteer from HC who eventually took me -- she had called admissions with her request, 2 by wound care people via computer request) to go unanswered? I could have accepted someone saying they were short staffed and it'd be a while....but to be told NOTHING!
To say I'm disappointed and frustrated and angry would be under statements!" - M
