Lexington Va Medical Center Stories

Lexington Va Medical Center: "Scathing reports about patient safety have been issued about this hospital. I try to point out shortcomings and they deny deny deny. Lying to cover mistakes, misdiagnosis. I came from a medical background since 1986. the leadership here is at fault. When they cover up and protect staff violations, they are breaking the law. I will continue to try and make this a safer place for veterans to be treated by using facts. They argue against them when presented and even attempt to blame the patient. I have witnessed a drunk surgeon at a hospital prior but consider myself safer there. This Lexington, Ky VA is substandard. I just had a call from a nurse there who could barely speak medical terminology. I was not given a triage before being sent to the hallway to wait. I wonder how many a year die this way. Be an educated health consumer, look up statistics and don't believe for one second, that this is a safe place. I have spoken with the chief of medicine there and he denied, denied, denied. No wonder the staff does anything they please. Poor leadership, leads to poor staff and patient safety. I have been in the medical field a very long time and this is the most unsafe hospital I have ever encountered. " - Charles
