Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center: " I am battling an addiction of fentanyl I have 3 weeks that I have not used but it's not getting any easier I can't find a treatment center to take me in so I went into the ER and legacy at 6am at 2pm everybody that was there before me was gone and the people that came in after me were gone but at 2:00 p.m. I'm still sitting there .I was still not seen. I finally left I guess my only option is to go back out and start using fentanyl because there is nothing out there for me to be able to stay off of this drug I put my effort in and I keep being shoved back down so obviously it's not what I'm supposed to be doing but I can't say I didn't try. Thanks legacy for all your help." - Marlena

Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center: "I've been to this Hospital tons of times. The wait times in the ER are absolutely ridiculous. I went in one time for Diabetic Ketoacidosis. I say in the waiting room for 3 HOURS before they even put the IV in. I should have been taken care of immediately as this is a life threatening Illness. I've also gone in for Pain and they give me Toradal which doesn't work. Every time I talk to the ER Dr.'s I feel like they don't listen to me or take my concerns seriously as it's the same routine every time. The Dr 's need to listen to their Patients better and have better Pain Control Methods as them not listening or not treating Pain is UNACCEPTABLE." - Julie

Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center: "Their Ed was a nightmare. The check in person was great. The nurse that took me back was great. The doctor was condescending, arrogant & would not listen to anything I said. He would interrupt me and ask a question that I had ALREADY answered, if he were paying attention. I had a fractured t1 & the spinous broken off on my C6 & C7 plus I had several ribs on both sides that were healing. NOT healed, but in the process of healing. I had been jerked very hard by a family in-law & my neck & head was really hurting I had an intense headache that would NOT go away. I want to find out if there was a re-injury & what was causing my headache, also I had a UTI that didn't go away with a course of antibiotics 6mo. ago. They did a CT Scan w/o contrast. I explained that the Dr in the Ed in Colorado had taken a CT Scan WITH contrast & food they wouldn't have seen it without contrast. The Dr.at Legacy Salmon Creek said, "Well we don't do CTs with contrast.." That's when I should've left & gone to a real hospital. Of course there was nothing wrong with me at all. It was all in my head. I was sent home with having taken 1g of Tylenol & told to take IBU when I got home.
I am 66yr old woman that in a survivor of DV & who has Osteoporosis and can't even walk 3-4 blocks without being in such pain my head literally feels like it's a 10# bowling ball wobbling around on top of my neck. I WILL NEVER GO THERE EVEN IF I'M BLEEDING TO DEATH.
Fast forward one week & my 86y mother had a bad fall in the bathroom, had a lump on the back of her head, bruiser on back of her neck da bruise on her hip. AGAIN, CT w/o contrast. Nothing wrong, sent her home with no pain meds or muscle relaxers, NOTHING! She got worse everyday for 3d until my sister & I went set & didn't even recognize her. She could not walk, she slurred her speach, trembled when getting out of her chair (that is an automatic one) the pain . Took 3 people to get her onto her walker, she was in so much pain! "

Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center: "When it comes to critical care and end of life, this hospital is on it. Their nurses are compassionate, their end of life care is above and beyond, and their consideration for the patient and their family is both ethical and caring. We had a loved one in their 90s on hospice be given palatable care with consideration of comfort and families long distance to emergently travel cross country for a final goodbye. Their spiritual care team took every measure to not only give Last Rites, but also help guide the family through grief and made sure we all had food and a variety of liquids while we spent the last three days with our beloved matriarch. I can not say enough about the care we were all given by the ER, ICU, IMCU, Hospice, Respiratory, Pastors, end of life support department and the ethical choice to help her pass peacefully, surrounded by her family instead of in a cold nursing home without comfort care. It would have been a much harder passing for everyone and we are forever grateful.

With that said, the ER does need some better direction and expansion to take care of patients that are not considered a Code 3, Code Blue, Code Neuro, an MI, or other critical patients. As a former ER Tech at another Legacy, management needs to get it together for the 90% of patients that need emergent, non-critical care. A diabetic in Ketoacidosis, being titrated on insulin (normally a 1:1 care) should not sit in a lobby for 8 hours waiting for a room. That is how people die. I know Legacy can and does do better, so this is a department issue, not a system wide or even a full hospital problem."

Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center: "The worst emergency room ever. I was taken to the legacy salmon creek hospital by ambulance. The ambulance arrived at 8.50pm. It’s 1.07 am and I’m still in the waiting area. What this hospital can do is to send the bill. The rating should be below zero, in negative numbers. " - Viktor
