Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute Stories

Lawnwood Regional Medical Center & Heart Institute: "My mother was a patient there. She was bedridden and not mobile or able to get to a toilet. She was being given the strongest laxitives possible to reduce the ammonia in her system. She needed to have someone clean her often. This wasn't happening. She was left in her own stool for over six hours at a time because nobody could be bothered to help her. I went out to the nurses station to ask for someone to take care of her and I was ignored until I threw the books I was holding into the middle of the floor and began throwing a fit. It's disgusting how they treat people. The nurses were too busy charting and unfortunately on several occasions were too busy flirting with the doctors to help. I absolutely hate that hospital and the nurses who put their responsibilities off on others. When my mother was there the CNA assigned to her told us she had 18 patients to cover. That's just criminal in my opinion. And I know for a fact that at least three doctors recently divorced their wives for women they had an affair with at this hospital. I've been vocal about that too. They foster a disgusting disgraceful environment there. " - Lisa
