Lakewood Ranch Medical Center: "The ER on Fruitville Road in Sarasota was very good. Took me right in and saw the Dr within 45 minutes.

Their administration department is horrible. At the ER they asked if I wanted my records sent to my primary Dr. I said yes.

This was on Sunday 7/23.

Today is Tuesday 7/25 and my Dr still has not received my records.

I called the document request department at Lakewood and have left 4 messages (you only get voicemail and not a live person). No one has responded.

I have a broken Fibula that probably needs surgery. I cannot see an orthopedic doctor without a referral from my primary doctor. My primary doctor cannot give me a referral without my records.

I would give the medical staff five stars and the administration department zero stars for their total lack of response and compassion for someone in a high degree of pain.

Lakewood Ranch Medical Center: "I am about to go to the ER at Lakewood ranch. I have chosen this hospital every time I have a choice. I have always had good experiences here as I don't like hospitals and I'm a very impatient person but they have been faster than any other experience I've had... I know this is not the platform for Manatee memorial hospital but I will never by choice go there again. The few times that I have had the unfortunate experience of having to go to their ER have been horrible one time I waited in the ER for over 9 hours only having my vitals checked..... I finally just walked out and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a bill for over $300 come to my house for them taking my blood pressure and that's it. Of course I know and completely understand that emergencies are seen as a worst comes first basis and my situation was a horrible experience for myself but no it was not life or death at least not at that point but what brought me to the hospital had been close to a deadly situation for me ????knowing all of that they still left me out in the waiting room for over 9 hours... Anyways I have always chosen Lakewood ranch and they have always done a stand-up job whatever the reason may be ...unfortunately I'll be heading back to the ER shortly and I really don't want to and I don't want to be there for long so I'm crossing my fingers that this is another good experience.
