Knapp Medical Center: "The staff is ok. The hospital itself, not so much. Parents, DO NOT BRING YOUR KIDS HERE! As you know, you have to stay with your child in the hospital. Makes sense but they left me to sleep on the floor for a while and then they brought in this vinyl covered recliner to sleep in. For 5 days. Asked about a roll-away bed or even a cot; they don’t have them and if you bring your own cot, there’s no room for it. So I slept in a recliner for a week and have to go see my own doctor for my back and neck. TERRIBLE! The light in the bathroom didn’t work so they said to use the heater as a light source. In the Valley, when it’s 90+ degrees outside. That is a brilliant idea; why didn’t I think of that? Added bonus, we have our own in-room sauna. Thanks for that, geniuses. At one point they woke us up at 2 in the morning to move us to a different room. The reason, there’s a sick baby that needs the room because it’s closer to the nurse’s station. According to my steps, that room is 2 steps closer. And I understand seconds count in an emergency but to disturb a family at 2 AM over a 2 step difference is ridiculous. The alarms on all the little machines, they let go on for hours at a time. I just pretended I was in a sci-fi movie, piloting a spaceship and my alarms where going off. They have a whiteboard in the room so you know who your Charge Nurse, RN/LVN, CNA, RT/PT, etc is. That is if they ever fill it in or update it after a shift change. Don’t get me wrong, some did but that was the exception rather than the rule. So I just called people by what was on the board, not what was on their name tag. I did see on their tag who they where (RN, CNA, etc) so I matched it up properly. They didn’t catch on. Probably thought I was some kind of idiot. Some of the staff were good folks and they have WiFi. 2/10, would NOT recommend. " - James
