Jewish Hospital & St Mary's Healthcare: "You will die before anyone helps you" - Demetrius

Jewish Hospital & St Mary's Healthcare: "I’ve stayed multiple times and had 3 surgeries at Jewish Hospital. Possibly more. All 3 times were less than ideal.
1: Once was for an abscess that required surgery. Arrived at ER around 4 pm on a Wed. I was in so much excruciating pain. Instead of immediate surgery I was admitted around 9 pm and put on the morning surgery schedule. Then moved from 8th to 1st (6 am). I couldn’t bear the pain any longer by 2-3 am. I called for the nurse, she apathetically said that she’d given me all that the Dr. would allow. I asked if she would contact Dr. again since it’s not touching the pain. Her reply did not give me any reassurance. I then asked/ begged if she could give me anything that would knock me out! I was in as much or more pain as my appendicitis, kidney stones, neuralgia, dry socket, childbirth, or emergency C-section.
Finally, they came to get me for surgery prep. Still nothing more than I had already been given. The prep nurse was super empathetic but said she couldn’t change anything because the surgeon hadn’t arrived yet. Jesus, sweet mercy! Please??? I didn’t get relief until post-op. I’m always grateful and sweet as pie to all staff. I’m in awe of people who make it their life’s work to care for others. Post-op, 2-night stay: the nurses were mostly inattentive and slow to respond (usually irritated, especially by the call button, even if used sparingly).
Food is mostly inedible. Instead of having a healthy/moderate menu to choose from, it’s healthy/ever-so-slightly sub-healthy/gross menu choices. I get that it’s a hospital, but I can not eat what I don’t like. Not just because I’m picky, but also because I have multiple, chronic, severe gastrointestinal diseases. Regular sodas are no longer available other than 1 or 2 vending machines, the nutrition/kitchen staff were curt and unaccommodating.

2: Out-patient surgery (2019). The pre-surgery staff prepped me efficiently, and normally. The surgical staff, however, left me on the surgery table for at least 45 minutes before administering anything. The drape was placed over my face, in contact with my face. When I asked for it to be tented, they weren't paying attention. I asked about it again, they said to turn my head to the side. I have a limited range of motion. Then the surgeon popped his head under the tent (!) and asked which model did I prefer of the device that he was about to implant! When I said that I was starting to get anxious because it was taking so long, that was met with a bit of irritation as well.

3: Planned surgery, 3-night stay (2018): Pain not controlled, food mostly inedible, nurses mostly aggrieved and slow to respond."
