Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital Stories

Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital: "My husband was taken by ambulance to the ER at 6:30 AM on 1/8/2023. It is now more than 24 hours since he was admitted to the ER and confirmed he needs to be admitted to the hospital. He is still in the ER waiting for a bed with no estimated time for having a room ready for him. I was told by staff that they have 30 people in the ER waiting on rooms. What causes this sort of back up in the ER? I was told poor hospital management. Unacceptable as this is our local hospital with no other choice when 911 is needed for transportation. " - Donna

Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital: "Came in by ambulance for severe abdominal pain. Was taken off the gurney before seeing any doctor and put in a chair and taken to the waiting room. After 2 hours in acute pain I passed out. Not one nurse came to check on me. A guy waiting helped me up and back in the chair. Was told wait time to be seen is 5-6 hours. I get they are over run but seriously not one person waiting was check on or had anything started. Pain is not a priority nor is possible rupture etc. Very unorganized and uncaring. This is my community hospital... I’m disappointed at best. And I get Covid has changed everything but they could do better. " - Kelly
