    Hampton Regional Medical Center Stories

Hampton Regional Medical Center: "This is the worst hospital I have EVER been to. First, they do not have services i was needing. So, they keep me over night and call an ambulance service to transport me to Florence Med Ctr which is over an hour away. I was told it was covered by my insurance. 3 months later i get a bill for $5900. That is the balance bill amount that I am responsible for as the ambulance service was out of network. I called the hospital today and the woman tells me does not matter who ordered the service I have to pay. I AM NOT PAYING THIS BILL as I would of rather they communicated with me about the transportation and had me check to see if it was covered. DO NOT trust their staff to order services like this as you will be stuck with a balance bill especially if you use AMERIMED EMS out of GA. Why would they use a service out of GA when there are others available. Also, when I was at Florence Med Ctr i left after 10 days as they did not have the services i needed AND a nurse almost gave me a shot of lasiks when I have never been ordered or taken Lasiks. Be an advocate for yourselves or you will regret it. I have NOT found good care in Hampton yet. I started driving where I get quality care to Bluffton and Charleston and they communicate respectful too. Also, no surprise bills at Bluffton or Charleston either. It is definitely worth the drive to not be at a rude hospital who treats you like a number, not a person with a medical need." - Sherri
