Hale County Hospital Stories

Hale County Hospital: "Today 7/12/2020 I had a pain in my side and decided to go to the hospital. I choose the Hale county hospital because it is in my home town. While waiting for the Doctor to arrive at the examination room I pulled my mask down a little because I could not breathe and I am claustrophobic. If I leave the mask on too long I become nauseated and ill. I know that it is not the safest thing to do but once again I could not breathe.

When the Doctor entered He asked my symptoms I gave them to him. Then out of the blue, he said you should wear your mask down smart people like me, referring to himself, wear it up but you should wear it down then you can die. Tell all your family and friends and they can die too. Does that make sense at first I almost said yes because I couldn't understand his thick accent? Then he kept repeating it and it dawned on me what he was saying. I told him no that was dumb as hell (I was frustrated at this point) then he starts saying that he has been doing this for 45 years. Then I remembered him ( because he always says that when I confront him about respect). Dr. Mohammed Salehuddin MD. This was the same physician that told me some time ago that I was fat and would develop diabetes.

He also was rude to my mother and daughter while treating my mother ( I filed a complaint on that one and the hospital director Shay Whately told me that he was supposed to have a nurse with him when communicating with patients. Guess what no nurse was with him when he examined me.

The Director also said that his behavior has been a problem. So since the hospital can not handle his rude racism I decided to write this post.

I call it racism. Because I do not doubt that he would not talk to a white person like that or someone of his nationality.

I went on to explained to him that I thought he was dumb as hell for the way he was talking. I told him that I was a man just like him and he would talk to me with respect. He just looked indifferent and said again I've been doing this for 45 years. I stopped him and told him, that has nothing to do with how you are talking to me. I went on to say that he needed to learn how to talk to people with respect.

I explained to him that he could have simply said Mr. Ross you need to keep your mask up. He then replied that he was tired of telling people to pull up their masks. He went on to say he had tried that method but it was like banging his head against the wall. I explained to him that he had never addressed that issue with me and again He Became indifferent. He then went into his do you want to die speech again.

I started to leave and then he wanted to talk about my condition he said let's just take care of you we will do a Cat Scan and blood test it may be kindy stones. The doctor never even bothered to return and give me his diagnosis.

On July 15, 2020, a representative of the Hospital phoned me. The representative tried to convince me that, Dr. Salehuddin was just frustrated with the COV 19 deaths. I explained to the representative that I can't buy that because there was no COV 19 when I had my previous encounters with Dr. Salehuddin. The representative also stated that with limited resources made it was impossible to fire Dr. Salehuddin. I explained to the Representative that there should be zero tolerance on this type of behavior. We agreed to disagree.

I then told the Representative that I was composing a letter for publication on my encounters with Dr. Salehuddin. I also explained that I would wait 7 days from July 15, 2020, and if I have not received a written apology by that time I would be publishing this letter online.

The Representative from the hospital called back today( July 21, 2020). He apologized for The doctor's behavior and passed on an apology for the Director. Then he paused and said that's all we can do.

I will never go there again under my own power."
