Grossmont Hospital: "I was in a bad car accident and taken to Grossmont ER. They left me for 3 hours on a gurney underneath an AC vent that was so cold I was shivering. They gave me a pain pill I never asked for on an empty stomach and insisted that I had to take it with like 1 swallow of water. 1 nurse said she would bring me a sandwich and never did. After a CT Scan another said I was going to be released after I sign some papers, another 2 hours passed and she never returned. This younger one was a total b__ch and I asked for some soaked sponges because my mouth was so dry I could barely swallow. She told me if I didn't get back in bed she wouldn't get me any. I told her to take the wires and IV out because I wasn't in prison and I was leaving. They all have different information or tell you nothing and just leave you there for hours and hours without food or water. No pillow...only thin blankets. This place is a joke, totally unprofessional, rude and uncaring and seems like nobody knows what's going on. Go anywhere but Grossmont ER. You've been warned, you'll be sorry." - Sydney

Grossmont Hospital: "This seems waaaaay too short of a wait time for Grossmont Hospital. It's always always a minimum of 6+hrs wait time. 2 days ago I was there an someone had been there for +14hrs when I decided that I could not wait any longer myself du to back issues with sitting for too long. Another woman with severe recurrent abdominal issues was told that she had to wait at least an additional 6 hrs on top of the 5hrs she was already there for. Super, super busy with only one doctor at that time. I hate the horrible wait times here." - Cynthia

Grossmont Hospital: "I am going to make this short and then explain my reasoning in another paragraph and some of them are not the worst experiences I had with the 6 hrs I was in the ER. DO NOT FOR ANY REASON EVEN IF IT"S MINOR go into THAT GROSSMONT HOSPITAL for any treatment at all. Also, tell those you care about not to go because they might not make it out alive, that's not a joke!
SO here it goes. I just recently moved to the San Diego area from Northern Cali. For the last few years I have a had an amazing healthcare team working with me with my life threatening disease to where my prior healthcare team told me if I am wondering about my health declining to give them a call if I cant get a hold of them do not hesitate and go into this specific ER. At first I was hesitant because I (like many others) have had horrible experiences with healthcare facilities, doctors, etc. but they reassured me and worked with me to where I trusted the healthcare system again and completely trusted my team (hesitant but still do after speaking with them on the phone with my experience). I have had family memebers in the past go to grossmont and loved it (prior COVID-19). I didnt even google it just assumed (my bad) that they would be a good hospital. Oh boy was I wrong way wrong.

Grossmont Hospital: "I went in at 3:15 pm for kidney stone issue. I was there for 5 hours. This was my first experience with Sharp Grossmont hospital. The Sharp experience was horrible the nurses and staff were uncaring, unsympathetic and lacked any kind of humanity. I felt like they were there just for a pay check. They took my payment and then I got discharged 8:10. It wasn’t just that they treated me aweful it was that they treated other patients with no dignity and no sympathy. They need some formal training on how to really care for
People. 5 hours I saw a lot it scared me. I don’t know if I would ever go there again, I know I wouldn’t if I had a choice. Next year I will be changing my benefits to not have Sharp. "

Grossmont Hospital: "I went to Sharp Grossmont ER for a head injury from an assault. I was quickly triaged and had xrays and CT scan but then I waited more than 6 hrs to have my head sutured. The staff were dismissive, unsympathetic and borderline rude. As a patient and a nurse I found their behavior and attitude offensive, dehumanizing and unprofessional.
