    Frederick Memorial Hospital: "
Terrible hospital. Would give zero stars if I could. Go elsewhere or advocate strongly for your loved one if you have to come here. I've been taking care of my mother for 13 years and I've been to Johns Hopkins, Baltimore Washington, Virginia Health Center, etc. and never one complaint. I have had numerous complaints and grievences filed on behalf of incompetent providers, who carelessly made mistakes in regards to my mothers care. Amanda Kallas chose not once, but twice, to not adequately communicate with myself, my mothers POA, and in turn, discharged my mother without her proper medications and added a medication that could have poisoned my mom, causing a 10 day withdrawal of her blood thinner and difficulty getting it resumed back at her nursing home. The second time, she didn't have details on my mother's stent, despite the medical records scanned into my moms chart, and decided to clear my mother for a procedure without obtaining full information. Kelly Hoffman refused to wear gloves when caring for my mother and despite asking her nicely several times touched my moms bloody IV site and wounded bloody arm with her bare hands. My mother still has a bacterial infection at this time, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's not a skin infection that comes about in the near future. PA-C Jill Wilkins tried to send my mother back to the nursing home with a malfunctioning and embedded peg tube into the abdominal wall and refused to come up with a next step plan other then discharge, leading me to have to get the hospitalist supervisor involved who then brought my mom to observation where I have a written note stating my mother's condition was not successfully treated in the ER and further care was necessary. Dr. Selvam embedded my mother's dislodged Peg Tube into the abdominal wall, (supposed to end up in the stomach) causing an immediate re-admittance and turn around from ER- to nursing home- back to ER causing severe pain, with medication spillage all over my mother's stomach, a lengthy hospital stay, and a start of an infection at the exit site. Dr. Balani (Infectious disease) misdiagnosed my mother with an active C.Diff infection, advising providers not to treat my mother with antibiotics, ultimately resulting in an untreated bacterial infection (most likely UTI) of unknown source and now having to monitor and most likely take my mother to another hospital. Coincidentally, Dr. Balani's note in the portal dissappeared, however, always take screenshots. These are just a few of the many more examples of the horrendous care my chronically ill mother received at this facility. Luckily, I have an attorney within my family who is interested in making sure this doesn't happen to anyone else. I also have the time to file complaints to the joint commission, and board of medicine. If you have a severally Ill loved one, go elsewhere, or if you can't because this is the nearest hospital, watch these providers like a hawk. Sign up for the patient portal and read the providers notes. Educate yourself and ask questions. They are rushed, rude, careless, some incompetent, and lazy; especially in the Emergency Department."

Frederick Memorial Hospital: "I just left the Frederick Memorial Hospital ED. This is the more worthless Department in the hospital. My mother who is 95 years old was taken by ambulance this morning (10-18-19) at about 9:45 am. By the time my sister and I arrived at 10:05 she was still in the triad section B. It wasn't until 10:30 that finally a PA arrived and my mother described her pain and test were ordered. She was admitted to a ED room where the doctor appeared only once. She inquired about my mothers pain and instead of listening to her or my sister and I she ordered tests to be done. She never appeared until my sister approached her at the desk outside. She pocked her head in to tell the social worker that the test was negative. My mother was still having pain.So instead of admitting her and run further test to see what was causing the pain. they send her home with pain medicine. This is the second back experience I have had with Frederick Memorial ED Department and there so called doctors.I will be following up with this department. This is unacceptable after our family doctor said he would sign a paper stating that further test need to be ordered and her admitted!!" - Mary
