Cox Medical Center: "Been waiting for many hours since yesterday evening. Some elderly have been waiting in the ER since YESTERDAY morning and afternoon!!! Are the doctors just not there and are we being held to wait because of lack of room or doctors?! No hospital should continue to take more patients if you know it’s going to be more than FOUR HOURS before they’ll be seen! Cox is awful and this happens EVERY single time I have come here! Always more than a 5 hour wait! " - April

Cox Medical Center: "I have now been sitting in the ER for 9 hours. Your stats for non critical patients show under 3 hours in and out.I don’t appreciate the humor. I realize staffing is a problem but this is ridiculous. I can’t leave as I came in an ambulance for mobility issues and live alone. I would go AMA but I’ve had no MA!!!! I spent my entire career in medicine and I’ve never seen anything like this. No updates and the desk personnel are rude and act like they just don’t care.I’ll travel to St.Louis before I ever set foot in Cox again" - Robert

Cox Medical Center: "I brought my 84 year old father to the Cox South because of respiratory problems, fever and delirium. Suspect flu because I have the flu. We have now been here for 5 hours! No one seems to moving. The same people are sitting here in the waiting room with us now as have been since we arrived. The only people getting to go back seem to be coming in wheel chairs from other parts of the hospital! When I ask the desk about the wait they just tell me there’s no doctor or rooms and that there have been a lot of ambulances. This is insane! I am watching my dad get worse as we sit here! They were able to tell me that his flu test came back positive-after I asked about it! Perhaps Cox needs to hire more doctors or close this er? At any rate, they need to do better!" - April

Cox Medical Center: "My 20 year old son was rushed here by ambulance with some sort of heart issue. He lost consciousness before paramedics arrived. We informed the paramedics we wanted to go to Mercy, they took us to Cox South instead.I dislike this hospital for many reasons, hence the reason we wanted Mercy. Rude females behind the desk at the front, they left my son who was having heart issues, BP 86/67, pulse 43-62bpm, extreme dizziness and light headed, in the waiting area for more than 8.5 hours. All the while saying they would check his vitals and get him in quickly because of his symptoms. They have taken his vitals twice!! And we are still waiting! Thankfully my son is responsive, but this hospital is pathetic and I don't see how they can get away with this!
2 people literally left AMA ( against medical Advice) went to Mercy ER and came back to tell the ladies at the front desk that they have been in and out of Mercy in 4 hours from the time they went in till their spouse/child was either discharged or admitted. This is after these patients had been waiting for 7-12 hours here at Cox. I am typing this out as we sit here waiting, STILL to be seen!!!" - Misty
