Community Memorial Hospital San Buenaventura: "Ventura Community Memorial is under construction at this time for earthquake compliance. It is difficult and sometimes impossible to park. The valet lots can be full necessitating parking on city streets and walking to the hospital through construction zones and the parking structure.
It is difficult to even find the front entrance to the hospital.
We came for pre op check in. The wait was 40 minutes to see a staff memeber. The person on staff who finally helped us did not make eye contact when requesting photo id and insurance cards. She had her back turned to us when asking for these items, so we thought she was speaking to a colleague.
Additionally, she was not able to find pre-op lab orders which were transmitted electronically to the hospital from the physician office. She said, "What number were these faxed to? This is a big place. I can't go looking everywhere." This attitude says to me, "I really don't care."
Admitting is the first point of contact for patients (the customers) with the hospital. Our experience was very poor. I would give a grade "D."
Additionally, the surgical patient developed hospital acquired pneumonia. My conclusion is that the sanitary staff has the same poor job performance level as the person with whom we interacted at admitting." - Rebecca
