Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: "Worst nightmare of an experience EVER!!! 8 hours waiting to be seen. Then got to a bed and more waiting for the doctor.
The waiting room is filthy, completely dirty with bugs, urine odor, food crumbs and homeless people sleeping on several chairs to make a bed. I was nervous to use the restrooms that I might catch something else in addition to what I was there to be treated for! Please someone tell me how this hospital is turning an annual profit of close to $500 million a year and cannot better keep up their facilities?! How is this the United States!!! Just check out the yelp reviews and you will be terrified to come here as well. I’m nervous for the bill. "

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: "This brings me back to year 1990, August the 1st. Dad had a heart attack, was taken to Emergency room, I was with him inside the room 10 am he was screaming in pain, the Drs ignored him, I did beg them to save my father and they kept doing other things. Finally, the rushed to resuscitate him, they force me to leave his side.i waited with my Mom outside... no news, no updates around 7 pm a nice, kind man, the cleaner, approached us and asked why we had been waiting for so long. We explained our situation, I saw terror on his eyes. He asked how my father looked like, I thought it was a kind an strange question, I described Dad to him. He said, there is dead man that passed away around 12.pm today and he directed Mom and I me to the room where Dad was with covered with with paper and a number tag on his toe. An scene I didn’t want to revive ????. We couldn’t get his body until we sign a release saying that he had died of a heart attack and we agree with it. We waited for seven days as the Hospital didn’t want to release his body arguing that he had to be sent to the Morgue in LA.
My mother was devastated she asked me to sign “ whatever they wanted in order to get Dad out and give him the funeral we wanted”. I paid $17,500.00 for the hospital to do nothing, except ignore him. I put upfront my American Express as per their request as soon as we got in that Hospital. We receive an “ we are really sorry, we will be sure this doesn't happen anymore” from the Director of the Hospital. We sign and we got his body right away."

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: "Wow what happened to cedars?! Absolute chaos, waited over 6 hours on a slow Friday to be seen. People were yelling, crying, begging the staff to help them. Never again unless I'm in a body bag. Stay away if you have options." - Kevin

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: "3 and half hours is not true. Walked in they said over 5 hours like it was a restaurant. 2 hours in they stopped calling people back and obviously had a shift change. Came in with appendicitis waited 3 and half hours and left to go to UCLA. They want people to leave instead of be seen. " - EME

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: "I held out hope for Cedars but it seems like they're overwhelmed too. Arrived at 9PM only to watch EVERYONE ELSE both inside the waiting room and outside in the valet parking lot get taken in before me, including 2 "non-priority" patients with the same symptoms I had. I've been unable to hold food down for a week and liquids for 3 days. I know I'm severely malnutritioned and dehydrated but they let me wait outside and even gave me false hope saying I was at the top of the list even though they never checked!

Never again, they WILL let you die outside."

Cedars-Sinai Medical Center: "I had 2 of my doctors tell me to get to an ER ASAP. I am a Type I diabetic and was experiencing severe abdominal pain. I had been in Cedars Sinai before and had a good experience so headed there. Wish I could say the same the second time around. Waited for over 5+ hours watching people come and go without being me being seen. I told Triage that I had been sent for a CT scan, was experiencing severe pain (9 out of 10), and was a Type I diabetic, but was told to wait. I sat outside in the cold waiting and waiting in pain. My BP was 170/89. I contacted my endocrinologist by phone twice when I wasn’t seen. I eventually left and headed home to contact my doctors again. I understand that COVID is affecting a lot of things right now, but to prioritize patients that could quarantine at home or be seen by their physicians rather than taking up vital ER services is not right or fair to those who need actual emergency care. I am grateful for health care workers, and can’t imagine the issues they face. However, when people who need care aren’t seen within a reasonable timeframe, it is clear our healthcare system is broken. I am going to a different ER / Hospital for my care and will not return to Cedars Sinai again." - Robin
