Gaston Memorial Hospital: "That wait time is a joke! I was there yesterday 7/6/20 and waited in the lobby to be seen for 5 hours and when I was still waiting I asked the lady at the desk how much longer and she said you have 2 people In front of you and our beds are full. There is NO TELLING how much longer I would have had to wait and it was already 2am!!! So I left!! Kidney stone and all!! Went home and suffered through it! Gaston Memorial in Gaston County is a joke!! I will NEVER come there again and I will advise anyone else to go somewhere else! I sat in that waiting lobby and they checked my blood pressure several times and could see the pain I was in because at one time my pressure was 201/101!! They did nothing about it! Just sent me back to sit in the lobby pain and all! There is NO REASON to make patients who came to you for help to wait that long!! " - Amy

Gaston Memorial Hospital: "The ER is horrible and the wait is lengthy. After "treating" my daughter with antibiotics and releasing her, she ended up in a critical situation with a fever of 106. We took her to another hospital after the. As treatment here. When they were contacted to get the medical records to see what antibiotic was used that was ineffective, the response was "she was not a patient here!" Then when they had found her record of being in the ER, the chart had NO DOCUMENTATION of any antibiotic administered even though we saw the IV antibiotic. By the time all of these reports came in, 48 hours had already passed. She ended up being admitted for a week less than 18 hours of being released from this hospital. Incompetent, understaffed in the ER." - Suzanne

Gaston Memorial Hospital: "Do not go to the ER. We were there for 15 hours. It wouldn't have been so bad if the ER staff had followed the doctor's orders. Instead they just left a critically ill elderly person sit there hacking her head off until I had a meltdown on her behalf. They are unbelievable!" - T
