Mcleod Medical Center - Dillon: "The middle aged woman who wear dress clothes & walks around with a clipboard whom I assume is above the other staffers was VERY RUDE & physically assaulted me as I was already told by the front desk that I could walk to room 10 where my mother was. UNPROFESSIONAL & RACIST.
I will be filing a lawsuit. "

St Francis-Downtown: "I’ve waited in the waiting room for 7 hours in severe pain and all. Everyone else kept getting called ahead of me and then sent home. I was finally called back and admitted to the hospital for over a month. The triage crap is a bunch of BS especially when the nurses don’t know how to properly triage!!!" - Amanda

Greer Memorial Hospital: "I took the patient to Greer Memorial, I called ahead with the patients symptoms which were low oxygen and pneumonia, and dehydration and possible UTI. Upon arrival I was informed that I’m not allowed to enter due to covid. I understand the hospital is trying to be safe, however I stressed that the patient was confused and I wasn’t sure she could answer questions correctly. I was still told I’m not allowed to enter and I would be called with any concerns. Thank goodness for MyChart because a they ordered a CT of the abdomen and no chest x-ray. I called and the nurse was very rude to me. She asked if I couldn’t use a cell phone to call patient. I explained again she is confused and I believe she has pneumonia. The nurse snapped and said pneumonia wasn’t mentioned to her. You can hear her struggling to breathe. But, again confused patient and you didn’t check with family member. They ordered the X-ray and sure enough it was pneumonia. They were so busy she was treated in the waiting room, however, they neglected to do a covid test. She was giving a bag of fluid and sent home. She had zero improvement so we took her to St. Francis. Upon arrival they checked vitals, got her into a room and confirmed it was covid pneumonia so the course of treatment needed to be different. She has now been admitted to the hospital. I understand and respect rules are in place to try to protect people from covid, but when a family member is telling you symptoms, especially when the patient is so sick they can’t hold their head up, they need to be heard. I made sure my phone number was easily accessible but only billing called me. That leads me to think what was actually important. I understand the hospital staff is busy and overworked but not doing the proper tests is not ok. A patient that should have been admitted was discharged. I understand nurses are busy, I have two medical providers in my family who tells us how bad it is, but you won’t let us go with our family member, which I understand, but we are concerned and at your mercy to listen to us and keep us updated. I have compassion for all medical employees, I think patients and their family deserve that same compassion. However, St. Francis allowed me to triage and get a proper medical history. They also tested us with the upmost respect and actually listened to my concerns. I’m sorry Greer but you disappointed me in this case. " - Amanda
