Bristol Hospital: "Waited over 2 hrs. Once I got in the first assistant he was great from there it was down hill. The nurse had no bed side manner wasn't pleasant at all ask for a note she stayed don't you see we're busy. The doctor came in and out spent a whole 2 minutes with me. I will never go there again and will recommend people to go to Southington hospital were they are friendly and professional. I guess I should of known the girls at intake were also rude to busy on phones and talking with one another. Didn't even welcome me there. I literally stood there for 5 minutes waiting for them to take my information with no even in waiting room. Horrible experience!!!!" - Kelly

Bristol Hospital: "I spent 4 months and had 5 surgeries (the first was for 6.5 hours and my surgeon at JH said if it wasn’t for the mess that BH caused it would have been 1.5 hours) at Johns Hopkins to correct the mess that Bristol Hospital caused. I Had the original surgery at Bristol Hospital because my GP said they could handle it. When you are scared you follow your doctors advise on where to go. It was for insulinoma. Instead of a Pancreatic surgeon I found out later that he had sent me to a breast surgeon at Bristol Hospital. Bristol Pathology department said the insulinoma was cancer. I still was unable to function after the surgery. For two months nothing was being done except to tell me that I was not eating right. I contacted Johns Hopkins and they redid the pathology and detailed how the Bristol Hospital pathologist had made mistakes. They also found out why I was feeling so bad. The BH surgeon had left three insulinoma and I had a tremendous infec6tion. Bristol Hospital cause me to lose my spleen a large portion of my pancreas and part of my stomach due to the spreading of the infection. This happen in 2013. If I didn’t go to JH I would have been dead by now. 3 Months after my original surgery Bristol Hospital wanted me to begin chemo therapy base on their wrong pathology findings. My Surgeon at JH told me not to follow their advice and proceed with the new surgery at JH, More importantly he told me that there is no chemo therapy for insulinomas. Stay away from this hospital. The more I speak to people the more horror stories I hear." - TM

Bristol Hospital: "My 17yo daughter was brought in by ambulance from a friends home for alcohol poisoning. While at the hospital the only thing they did was a breathalyzer test, that was done after being there for approx 30 minutes. The results were twice the legal limit. The hospital chose not to give her an IV for hydration or a blood test to check for any other substances despite the fact that the paramedics and friends family had questioned any use of anything else. I am certain there was not but would’ve like to have shown that to the parents. They released her approx 40 minutes after arrival. She could barely wLk and began vomiting when going through the waiting room to leave. They did not do anything in my opinion to care for her. I would never recommend Bristol hospital fie tge care of a loved one." - Mom

Bristol Hospital: "I could write a book about the horrible way that this hospital treats its patients and still not be able to properly convey just how HORRIBLE this poor excuse of a hospital really is. Most people who live in Bristol would rather die than go to this place. I now go to New Britain General (Hospital of Central Connecticut, now) when I need medical services. Bristol hospital is teetering on bankruptcy and their complete lack of respect for the health and well being of their patients is the primary reason why.

Just a few of the complaints which are a regular problem at this fraudulent hospital.

#1). You can expect to wait up to 4-5 hours before seeing a physician there, even if it is not very busy.

#2). They will not offer you a wheelchair if you obviously need one and if you ask for one, the chances they will go out of their way to get you one is remote, at best.

#3). I was told once to sit on the floor, while in AGONIZING pain, to wait for a Doctor while I had a severe disc problem in my back because there were no chairs available.

#4). I was told while waiting to speak to one Doctor in the E.R. that patients were not allowed to "stand around the desk" (as if I was loitering) to speak to their Doctor and should wait in the general waiting area. The Doctor was EXTREMELY rude.

#5). Getting back to the excessive waiting time, my friend was coming up from New York City and had contracted food poisoning along the way. He stopped in to the Bristol Hospital and after waiting 4-5 HOURS in severe pain, he finally saw a Doctor. He refused to pay his bill and because of the poor reputation of this hospital, the collection agency removed it from his record. He told me that even in New York City, on a very busy day, no one waits 4-5 hours to see a Doctor.

#6). One time, a long time ago (1979), I was brought here by ambulance after becoming sick and the Doctors placed me in the general waiting room area on a hospital gurney, in my underwear, in front of all of the other waiting patients, until a room was ready for me.

#7). They tried to double charge me for a bill which was already paid by my insurance. The bill amounted to over a thousand Dollars. My credit was being ruined and their billing department couldn't find the copy of the original bill so, I had no way, short of bringing them to court, to fight it. After 7 YEARS, the bill finally disappeared from my credit history.

#8). When I went there earlier this year after my back went out, the Doctor accused me of "faking" my pain. She then refused to stabilize my pain, which is totally illegal here in Connecticut. This was probably done to get even for my bad reviews of this place which I placed in the Bristol Press newspaper.

It has been my experience after dealing with many people who also have nothing good to say about this hospital that those who actually do have something good to say are either friends of employees who work there or are employees themselves.

I would rather die than return here."

Bristol Hospital: "Terrible hospital. Long history of malpractice, falsified medical records, perjury at probate court hearings, involuntary admission without probable cause, forced drugging, torture, and so on. Staff are junkies who steal narcotics to abuse them. The detox and psych ward staff are the worst. Psychiatric poisons cause diabetes, pancreatitis, liver and kidney damage, and heart attacks; thus death. The poisons also destroy mental health by causing depression, suicidal ideation, psychosis, etc." - Kedrick
