Bethesda North: "On May 20th I had lower back surgery, at Bethesda North, there were complications removing a bone fragment and the surgery took nearly 7 hours, during recovery I was scheduled a regiment of IV pain medication and oral pain medication every four hours. The nurses would not show up for 30-minutes to 1 hour and would often skip my IV medication and encourage me to wait an additional 30 minutes to 1 hour for my oral pain medication. They clearly were using stall tactics, they lectured me about addiction and made me feel guilty for asking for morphine, despite my severe pain from the back surgery. After begging for my SCHEDULED IV medicine I was given a weaker dose to just take the "edge off", I did not blame the nurses, I believe they are trained to treat patients in this manner. I left Bethesda North emotionally, and physically scarred, and will never return to that hospital for care. " - Jeff

Bethesda North: "My experience on the Orthopedic unit after surgery was horrible. The nurses were uncaring and non-responsive. I went 11 hours without pain meds and finally had to call the Doctor myself. Nurse Judy was the worst. I will never set foot in this hospital again.

I had a similar experience 8 years ago with my Mother and hoped they had changed. Nope, still the same.
