Siloam Springs Regional Hospital: "It's unheard of to not respond to inquiries regarding infectious diseases report. Even an average would be nice. JACHO accreditation? I've heard the ER is better but still concerned especially if you're going to be admitted. " - Dorrie

Northwest Medical Center-Springdale: "My experience is a long and traumatizing on. I will try to summarize as best I can.

My experience began with Northwest Cardiology. Was in stage II hypertension even with my current BP med. So heart Dr. prescribed Chlorthalidone, a water pill that has been in use since the 60's but there have calls to pull this off the market for the last 40+ years due to one very dangerous side effect and I got slapped hard.

After 3rd day of taking this medication I had to stop it as I was feeling horrible. Called the nurse and she said she would talk to the doc and get back with me. 10 days later, no return call and I felt like I was rotting from the inside out,

Check into the ER where I was admitted with Drug Induced Critical Hypokalemia, in short the pill cause my body to mass dump potassium and sodium to dangerously low levels.

ER crew did great and kept me from tipping over the edge as my heart was in arrhythmia just short of stopping. I then had to wait over 3hrs for a room and that's when more problems began. Firstly they never sanitized the room for the 2.5 days that I was there, nurses were misreporting my blood pressure and fluid intake causing me to be put on fluid restriction the last day, Tiny 27 inch tv 15' from the bed and no damn sound. The room itself look like a flop house with concerns to aesthetics.

One nurse (Nurse Ratchet) kept treating me as if I was in drug rehab, they were not dispensing my medications as prescribed which put me in a whole lot of discomfort. Hell I had to beg for a damn tylenol!

There is a bit more details to this but that is about the short of it. The kick in the rear is that I have actually had attorneys try and tell me there is no case! They and a drug company almost succeeded in killing me, the fact that they didn't? Well that is there huge mistake because I will get justice! I will make them pay for the PTSD I am now mired down in reliving the whole ordeal every single day. Hell writing or talking about it is super hard.

I was the first case this year and the worst in 30yrs. I don't want anybody to have to go through what I did. Standing on the precipice between life and death, well it really messes with you. Add to that watching my mom waste away every single day and interesting family dynamics do not make things much easier.

Northwest, I hope your happy! While you may have saved my life you and that drug company ruined it at the same time and I have no idea how long it will take. A MedMal suit, if my requests can be met, would result in some closure but that will take some time. I have mountains of evidence of legal and hippa violations, health code violations oh and the "heart healthy" food, if you can call it that, bound me up for nearly a week and steps had to be taken to, well you know what.

Well that's it. I wish you all well and will tell any of you to stay away from nothwest medical center, well unless you want to gamble with your life. "
