Baptist Medical Center East Stories

Baptist Medical Center East: "I brought my daughter to the ER after she fell off of the bed and injured herself. The experience was less than desirable to say the least. The nurse that took her vitals rushed through the questions. The x-ray technician was impatient and kept trying to pull her arm even after her screaming that it hurt. He responded to her crying rudely and said "it isn't broken or she couldn't fight off moving it." When she was placed in a room, it was freezing cold and they didn't provide us with any blankets. After 3 hours the nurse came in who was kind and brought blankets, but simply said we had to continue to wait for the doctor to read the x-ray. We waited an additional 2 hours before that occurred. We were there 5 plus hours before she even received any pain medicine and that was only after I requested them. When the "doctor" NPRN final did come into the room he stated there were no breaks. I tried to explain the situation with the x-ray tech and how I felt that the imaging was possibly inaccurate, but it fell on deaf ears. He was in the room less than 5 minutes and told me that if she was still in pain in 3 DAYS I should take her to an Orthopedic doctor. I later found out (the next day) that her A.C. joint was sprained AND her Clavicle was broken! Baptist East E.R. should be ashamed of how they misdiagnosed and mistreated a 4 year old child. I will never return to this hospital for treatment, and will encourage others to do the same." - Adrienne

Baptist Medical Center East: "Montgomery Baptist T on exit 9 my wife wait was many hours finally we left. My my wife we thought was having or had had a stroke could read or write or remember much at all, they ask her to sign in on Kiosk. I as her husband could not attend or provide her symptoms, she could not remember well, after hours of waiting keeping her in the he lobby we went home , we felt no compassion no concern, we were treated like a number. Having served as 5 time president of a self insurers association I must say in my professional career, this was the worst experience a patient could imagine. Our family will not return. I had had an expellant experience at Jackson ER with my granddaughter will go there in the future." - Tony
