Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center Stories

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center: "I am a 77 year old woman with blue cross health insurance.

I have high blood pressure with blocked arteries. When I came in to ER I had a very high blood pressure. The night before I had been at the ER in Grants Pass I was given nitrogen because that day a nucular test showed I had a blockage.

I was sent home only to get worse so went to Medford ER because my cardiologist is located there.

My daughter drove me to ER. IT ENDED UP BEING A 3 HOUR WAIT. I left never being seen sick of just sitting and never being seen or BP taken again.

I was given a blood pressure test when I arrived then blood and urine sample. Then nothing I felt weak so asked receptionist to have my blood pressure checked. I asked 3 times and was told in a little while someone would check it. I had nitrate pills I could take in case but never got a BP test.

We saw cots in hall way filled with homeless looking people and mexican immigrants. The waiting room filled with elderly and others suffering.

I called my cardiologist across the street and then walked over. I took a nitrate pill and my daughter drove me home.

My cardiologist can do a video call next wed but I feel its dangerous with such high Blood pressure. Its at 220/110 so I could have a stroke.

The nurses and drs are over worked and frustrated they are overwhelmed.

My husband and I pay $600 a month for blue cross and both of us worked hard all our lives. The homeless, immigrants and drug addicts come in front of us when seeking emergency help.

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center: "My son is currently in the ED and has already been waiting 5 hours after triage. Last time was 7.5 hours after being triaged. The wait times on this site are very inaccurate. Never less than 4 hours unless you arrive by ambulance." - Kelly

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center: "I came in for surgery on December 8. Hospital beds were full (I am assuming it was due to Covid and staff shortage) and stayed the night in a post opp room. I was not planning on that but the staff was extremely nice and made up for any inconvenience. A special thank you to Tasha, the evening head nurse. Tasha was very attentive and genuinely concerned about my comfort. Dr. Carissa Ross, who did my surgery, is exceptional. Leading up to surgery the surgical staff and anesthesiologist were very respectful. I was totally comfortable with their level of service. Thank you! " - Elizabeth

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center: "At first I was delighted to find such a well-run hospital complex. Now I think the employees are too terrified about the ratings to do their jobs. I have had bad experiences with my providers not listening to me or supporting me. " - kathren
