Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center: "Been here for almost 4 hours now. Why call it an emergency room if there is no emergency in taking care of people. Its all a waiting game playing musical beds. You cant be seen unless there is a bed available. You come here and suffer more with the hope that you are seen before you keel over as that is what it might take for them to think you are having an emergency and came to the ER for emergency care. Where is the fabulous caring hospital from your brochure, where is the innovation in patient care ?
Why cant you expand and equip your ER to meet he needs of the community.
A one yr old waiting 5 hours to be seen, or a veteran in a wheelchair who looks like he was 90 should not be the norm. He asked and was told there were no beds available. Its 10pm. He has been here before I got here at 630. ER across this country needs to improve their wait times. Someone has to start. Why not you? "
