: "I've waited 18 hours at John Hopkins Bayview. I need to go again, I've lost all use of my left hand. I woke up one morning and my hand was numb and I can only move a couple of fingers. I don't want to go to the ER because all these Covid-19 paitents but I'm afraid my hand will permanently be like this if I wait." - Matt

: "I waited in the ER for over five hours and had to leave. I was at Northwestern Hospital and it was talk from urgent care it wouldn’t be a long wait. The worst thing for me and whatever I have is City and I felt like I was going to fall off the chair the whole time. I have not been down my hand and arm. I can’t even close my right hand all the way so I drop stuff all the time. I would say perhaps the worst part other than the pain and dizziness is having bladder issues. Yesterday I unfortunately had an accident. I don’t understand why something like this can wait so long. My version of emergency is being seen sooner than later. If I told somebody it’s an emergency and I need you they wouldn’t wait five hours to help me. I am at a loss. I can’t even close my right hand all the way so I drop stuff all the time. : "With Covid, everyone in healthcare is scrambling. I have Ulcerative Colitis and of an MD had not called 5 min before I was wheeled from their office to ER, I could have been turned away due to fever although it was UC fever along with dehydration, anemia seriously low BP of 78/48, extreme diarrhea with mostly blood. I arrived at 2:30ish and was taken back a couple of time to repeat blood work because the very young phlebotomist did not take enough blood when she stuck me even though I commented that it looked like the tubes were nearly empty. I sat in a decrepit wheel chair for about 6 hours with many other very sick ER waiting patients. I think we need to understand hospitals are short on staff, supplies, Covid protective gear and everyone is on edge. I really thought I was at death’s door when I arrived; so we’re many others. Let’s all give the medical staff a break and hope they really are going by highest Acuity seen first. WEAR YOUR MADK! and distance 10 feet, not 6. Godspeed " - CWT

: "My 14 year old is in pain. She is crying, pacing, rocking, shaking, and occasionally yelling out. She rated it at a 9 out of 10 when we first got here. We’ve been in the waiting room for over 4 hours. There has not been more than 6 patients in the waiting room this whole time. They’ve taken 2 back. Even if they have ambulances coming in why can’t she get in a room where she can rest without listening to the babies yelling? They have dozens of rooms, but patient care is not a priority. This has happened almost every time I’ve been here. I brought another child in 2 years ago and they left us in the waiting room for over 8 hours. At least that time they were actually busy" - Jenn
