ER Wait Times in Glynn County Hospitals

Average wait times at hospital in Glynn County show the time patients can expect to spend. Actual wait times will depend on many factors, such as severity of the injury, time of day, and staffing. Patients are quickly evaluated as part of a triage process, so the most severe cases can be treated first. Depending on the hospital, this initial wait can run from a few minutes to over an hour. The times below also include wait times for initial treatment, since there can be many delays after the triage process. Choose an ER with a shorter wait time to get seen more quickly.

Piedmont Henry Hospital: "If I could give 0 stars I would. The ER here is terrible. My mother was sent by ambulance to this ER and the first person to see her in ER was a medical student, alone , who looked all of 15 yrs old. Then she went to get one of the ER doctors. When he came in I was shocked. He was wearing street clothes and he looked ghetto like he would be selling drugs on the street. I’m thinking to myself, “ this is the doctor??”. He was not wearing scrubs or a lab coat, just street clothes. My mother came in with new spinal column fractures, she was dehydrated, had a UTI and was in the middle of a C diff infection. He put in a discharge for her from the ER without treating her. A case mgr came down and told my sister my mother was being discharged from the ER and she was calling a medical transport for her and they were leaving my mother at her house whether there was someone at the house or not, they were leaving her there. We had my mother transported to a different hospital ER, where she was treated and admitted into this other hospital. This is unacceptable and unprofessional behavior from the ER doctor and the case mgr at Henry Piedmont . This is negligence on their part and from this hospital. This is the worse hospital ever!" - Teri

Wellstar Cobb Medical Center: "My wife is currently at Cobb General with sepsis and c-diff. The majority of the nurses have been incredible but the Dr@s are horrible! Will not communicate with patients and family. Blood cultures were taken 4 days ago and no one will go over results and different dr give different treatment plans. My wife is miserable and her mental state is declining" - David

Emory Johns Creek Hospital: "I took my daughter to the Emory Johns Creek Hospital ER because she had lost consciousness a few times that day. At registration, they said nothing about the fact that they do not handle pediatrics. That part came after we had registered and waited 3 more hours, then they told us to go to a pediatric hospital.

If they had informed me at the registration desk that they do not do pediatrics, we could have gotten a 4-hour head-start on the inpatient workup she appropriately received at a better hospital. Believe it or not, we STILL got a bill for $950 despite having insurance!!!

Called to dispute, waited on the line for over an hour several times, and they refused to negotiate below $650. They also said that if they hadn't run my insurance, I would have been billed the self-pay rate at 35% discount, or $618. So here I have a case to actually SUE THEM FOR MALPRACTICE for delaying care, and not only will they not take an extremely generous settlement offer, they are PENALIZING ME for having insurance? What?!?

They caused an inappropriate delay in treatment and still demand that I pay more money out of pocket because I have insurance than I would have if I'd never given them my insurance card at all.

Emory now has another malpractice suit on their hands, this is not just a billing dispute anymore. Avoid any place with the EMORY name like the plague! You've been warned."

Piedmont Hospital: "First, I need to say that I have gone to Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta for over 50 years. My Piedmont physcians are excellent.

Sadly, Piedmont management seems to have no concern for patients with mobility issues.

I recently had a cardiac CT scan scheduled. I was told in advance there would be transport chairs by the door and the guard could call someone to push me to the registration area which is now a long hall in the opposite direction of the imaging area. Help is necessary because my husband and I both have medical issues that will not allow us to lift walkers or push transport chairs. (My husband and I are in the 95 Building a few times a year and there are very seldom any transport chairs available but we had no help that day and had to hope for the best.)

There were no transport chairs available when I checked in but the guard promptly called for a chair and someone to push it. While I was in a nearby restroom someone named Tia brought a chair and left if by my husband so she could help someone else. When she came back I asked her to help me. Her response was that she could not because she had to go back to the registration area to get someone. At that point I walked to the cardiac imaging area which was nearby and asked if I could register there as I had in years past. That is no longer permitted but as least they knew I was there and waiting for help to register.

Tia went by again going to registration. At that point the guard told me that it was really busy and I might have to reschedule my test because I was now late. I told him I had been on time and had informed the front desk person in the imaging center that I had arrived and was waiting for assistance to get to registration AND that Tia had walked pass me twice and could have pushed me there. Furthermore, I was not going to reschedule because I had been taking medication and fasting to prepare for the procedure.

Tia then got my paperwork from registration (i had preregistered as requested.) and someone wheeled me to the cardiac imaging area while my husband walked behind.

Piedmont Hospital staff have been professional and kind in the past and most of the people we deal with are now. Management needs to re-examine logistics keeping in mind that people are there because they have physical issues. There needs to be more assistance provided and better training for staff. At least get some wheelchairs that don't require a staff member to push them -- electric or large wheels that can be hand-operated--and make certain there are always some available.

: "Piedmont Henry is absolutely the worse. Waited 9 hrs in the ER before finally being admitted. Waited 3 hrs before being brought to the back n the doc looks at my hubby n says “I was wondering where you were!” “The computer said you were back here but I never saw you!” Seriously?! How about maybe calling the waiting room to find out where we were! Had spinal tap the next day n diagnosed with Guillain barre. Neurologist doesn’t want to do any treatment because it “could” cause blood clots. Hubby is losing his voice, has to walk with help, shortness of breath etc n he just left us sitting in the room with no plan. We signed a AMA n left. Headed to Emory or Northeast for better care.
